News and Updates!

I have been busy traveling all over the East Coast performing bits and pieces of my sideshow, so as always it's very challenging to keep this sucker updated. what do you want from me???? (wanna see old news? check out the Archive page!)

December 6, 2008 - it is time! Check out my new website! remember, it's still underconstruction, and as soon as it's where I like it, I will be moving it to the the main section of this site. in the meantime, this site is still here, but will not be updated as much.

October 6, 2008 - whew! keeping busy, and we all know that means that I forget to update my website. so apologies to all who have been dying to know what's going on!

Last weekend was the 3rd annual Belly Horror Show! And I have to say, I think this was the best one yet! every year we raise the bar. I was delighted to be able to contribute a piece this year. An Afro-Fusion Cannibal Burlesque piece, complete with shrunken head pasties! yes, it was awesome.

Friday, August 1, 2008 - Whew. it's finally August. I finally got my new Fire Eating Doll piece up! I love it! I have some not great footage of my first performance that was done at the Sideshow Saints and Sinners show. (great lineup, btw. if you missed that show..I pity you).

I brought the piece out again last night at the Bizarre Bazaar. I was the "Bizarre" part. :-) so far, folks are loving it!

next week, I'll be bringing Greta Groinshplitta back out for an encore performance. the promoters of the Vixen Variety show asked for her by name ;-) damn. she visits the palace once....man...what a woman!

but the big news is....I am going to DragonCon! whooho! it's one of the holy mecca's for geeks. and I'm going! so if you see a crazed sideshow girl sticking things in her nose, say hi!

Friday, July 25, 2008 - I have a few nummy little tidbits for folks to chew on. I'm going to give you links that may seem like I'm sending you away, but I'm not. Check it out.

1. I have created a blog specifically for DCVariety entertainment. I will be listing not only my own shows, but other great shows in the DC Metro area. I noticed a lot of the variety entertainers are not getting the press they deserve. hopefully, this will help put maybe a tiny dent in that.

the name of the blog is DCVariety. and it comes with an rss feed for folks who like that sort of thing.

2. I have started a new mailing list for local (dc) variety entertainers. if you are a performer, come by and introduce yourself.

Thursday, June 19, 2008 - When am I going to roll out my new web site? I have no idea. as usual, when things are busy, it's tough to make the updates to the site. but I will say, there is some good news! I have started a new blog for upcoming DC Variety events. You should check it out.

in other news, I'm really looking forward to MCing the Asheville Burlesque Sideshow Festival again this year. Last year it was such a blast, and something tells me this year is going to be even more fun!

Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - I have a confession. I have made updates since the 29th, but I love that date so much I kind of just added any changes I made to that date. but I can pretend no longer! today I updated some links on my Linkage Page. That's mostly it besides the routine clean up and whatnot. enjoy! and I hope to see you this weekend!

Wednesday, February 29, 2008 - Updates! - I have updated my web software and now will be updating my web site. :-) the wonders of modern technology. thanks for your patience!

and Coming soon! a new interactive calendar! and integrated applications! What does that mean? well, for starters, I will be setting up a new mailing list (like I have been promising for years), as well as a place for you to post your events. hooray for the internets!

Sunday, January 20, 2008 - Dr. Sketchy @ the Palace of Wonders. This was a real treat! I haven't done any modeling since college (Hey! it was art school and I needed the money! ;-). This event was completely unexpected and great fun! Cheers to the Hostesses with the mostessessesss - Bambi Galore and Shortstaxx! There were quick contests throughout the evening, and the lovely Miss Noralita's amazing drawing was voted best of the evening!

Saturday, January 19, 2008 - dc counter culture festival iii!!! the Cheeky Monkey Sideshow will be performing at this festival alongside great local comic book talent and other local artists! we are really looking forward to this show :-) (why, yes, we are, in fact, GEEKS!) there are more Cheeky Monkey gigs coming soon! as soon as we have them in ink I will announce them! that should be enough to keep people busy for a while, eh?

Saturday, Dec 8, DCTribal Hafla - with special guests, Kassar! the party starts at 4 pm and goes till 8 (after which I will be Santa again!!!) tickets for the hafla are $10. oh yea, what's a hafla? well, it's basically a Bellydance music and dance party! all are encouraged to participate.

Saturday, Dec 8, OPTION B - DC Santarchy! - dress up as Santa and hit the streets of DC! I'm actually going to be going to both the hafla and Santarchy. :-) hafla ends at 8 ;-)

Thursday November 29 @ Palace of Wonders! - Tribal fusion bellies. I'm not performing, but my friends are, and they are amazing. you won't want to miss this show. See some of the BEST Tribal Bellydance in the COUNTRY!!! ya, local pride. we are lucky to have some of the most amazing dancers right here in our own back yard!

Friday November 30 American Sinner @ the Quarry House in MD - best Tots EVER! Best Band EVER! I heard them once, and fell in love. come out and see why! (no cover!!!!) did I mention the tots?

November 16, 2007 - HIPS BENEFIT SHOW @ the Palace - what a great time! I loved working my butt off for sex workers! this year, we once again raised over $3,000!!!! being a freak for a good cause!

November 1 - 9, 2007 - the SideShow Gathering w/ The Cheeky Monkey Sideshow The Sideshow Gathering! was a hit!!! this year the Cheeky Monkey Sideshow was invited to perform among such greats as Natasha Verushka (the Bellydancing Swordswallower), The Bindelstiff Family Circus, Dr. Wilson, Zamora the Torture King, and many, many more!!! We really blew folks away! check out some of the testimonials we got!
