It was nice to be home. I cooked a lovely meal to eat with my mate, and she kept commenting on my broken arm. hmmm. we decided to see a monkey healer. The Magnus Bauftan is a well known monkey healer in our area. He has a great relationship with the monkies around here. He has even made me and my brothers some beautiful necklaces. When Mab brought me to him, he just shook his head. He told Mab that she would have to guard me much better than she had been. Now wait a minute, both Mab and I protested. Mab continued to insist that she has been keeping a very protective eye on me, but that I am too wild to control. "She is not my keeper", I reminded both humans. There was a moment of silence, Mab blinked a few times, then Magnus laughed, saying,"of course, yes yes. I forgot." Silly humans.
He fixed up my broken arm right as rain! in fact, after a few weeks of physical theapy, I was downright BUFF! (pictures comming soon~!)
Rest time over, we move on to our next destination, Fremont Ohio. If you ever get an opportunity to go there, reconsider. It's not a bad place, just not very exciting. In fact, it was kind of flat.
Paolo met mab in NVa, and they caravaned up to ohio. It was almost midnight when they arrived at the site of the Faire. The faire was on the same location as a golf course, and a "Haunted Hydro". It was a cross between genuinely spooky, and Scooby Doo. We drove in and found the ren faire area. Right in front of the main gate into the faire was a overgrown miniature putt-putt style golf course. It was too late to find anyone, so Paolo, Mab and I slept in our cars.
When morning came, we were taken to the area where we were to set up camp. Wow! it was surprisingly beautiful! there was an archway and fence made up of lashed logs, and an awning area also made of logs. Paolo and Mab made the camp beautiful in almost no time!
It should be noted that at this time, my pictures of much of the Fremont faire are currently missing. I think I know who has the film and I hope to have the pictures up soon! but until then, here are some more pictures to tie you over....
this is Misti and Brad from Olde Soles, they play excellent music. Paolo and Mab and I met them at the Faire in St. Louis, and then again at Fremont. Misti sings and plays the guitar, and she has an amazing sense of humor. Unfortunatly I cannot repeat most of the jokes she told me here, I can say..."Put it on a wooden plate." thank you. This couple was more than generous to let Paolo, Mab and Myself stay at their home for 3 days after the run of the faire. But that is a story for another page.
This is Queen B. Another lady we met at the St. Louis Faire, she made a one weekend appearance at Fremont. She is amazingly funny. I don't want to risk copywrite infringement by sharing the words to her original songs. I can tell you some of the titles though: Dead Dog Polka, I Hate Vegatables, and Defrosting My Freezer. I know I know, it just doesn't do it justice. you should visit her webpage and buy her cd!!!!!
Now, this last picture I really don't know where it came from. It was taken in Fremont, I recognize the Background, and the Cat. His name was Jalepeno, and he was but a kitten. He was traveling with a group called Gentry's Fashions, costume venders we are friends with. I know pictures say a thousand words, but I beg you, please don't read into this one. I was just having a pleasent conversation with the kitten. I wan't trying to set a trap for him, honest!
I'm going to leave you now. I have given you but a taste. I promise you though, I will continue to write more, and post more pictures. I have been traveling since Fremont. Mab has been a great subject. I have learned much from her. And I think I have learned a bit about myself. I won't tell you any morals, or conclusions. This study if far from over. But I suppose I should leave you with a closing thought. hmmm. Alright. How about...
I ~am~ The Monkey.
