We returned to our temporary home at the site of the Faire expecting the worst. However, the damage was minamal. One good thing was, as we drove up the previously flooded road, Mab spots something off to the side, just over the bridge. It was Paolo's Doc Martin Boots! Someone had tucked them nice and neat on a stump, w/ the bag of Fritos that we also left behind. I mention this because most of the people I met at the Faire were truely wonderful people. In the town I came from, expensive boots would not have been left alone for 4 hours, much less 4 days.
Allow me to a take a few moments to show you a few of the folks I met.
To the left is a picture of two of the people Mab traveled with. The man on the left (wearing the vest) is Paolo Garbanzo, Juggler, Fire-Eater, Lunatic. The man on the right (wearing the skirt) is Madcat. He is an exceptional artist. The are standing in front of the shop Mab set up, called "Bog Gypsies". Madcat painted the sign, using me as a model. I was most flattered. In the background you can also see some of the other Tavern Signs he had painted, that they were offering for sale.
Here is a great shot of the shop with Madcat, Paolo, and another friend, Lindsey. You can clearly see my picture on the sign as well as some of the other tavern signs Madcat painted. I left this picture large and on a sperate page so you can see all the great detail, so please allow a moment for downloading. And yes, this picture is used w/ permission from the photographer.
Now I got alot of pictures from my time in St. Louis. For the time, I'm just going to post them, with little captions. I'm running out of time to say everything I want to say. dang.
